New to the Droid

Hello,

I just received my Motorola Droid this past Friday. Verizon offered it to me after going through 3 HTC Eris's, 2 in one month.

I love this phone! It is so much faster and more responsive.

I want to root, what are the best roms to do this with?

Hey JScott,

I also came from a rooted Eris.

I went with Bugless Beast. Seems to be one of the roms with the best reputation around here. The dev is really good at what he does.. and it's pretty much bugless

So far I haven't switched roms. Did soooo much rom switching on my eris that my wife was about to leave me... and when she saw the new phone
Lets just say I'm happy with BB and dont see a reason to switch.

its simple! very easy..just follow these links:

start here: step 1


then here: step 2...
Download Froyo (2.2) for Your Motorola Droid ! ! !


then you can install a rom... here's what rom i use.. Bugless Beast

then you can overclock .... i used this one... ChevyNo1 ulow v 1.1 kernal

then add a theme... i used this.... NexTheme


and....you can change your boot animation for kicks.... mine..

have fun! its all easy...make your phone unique...this isn't an i*hone....DO WHAT YA LIKE!
