Root New to the rooting/flashing scene, and have a question about cognition.

Hi, I have a quick question. I'm new to all this, so please forgive me.

I flashed to the latest cognition that I found at this link;

How to: Flash Cognition on your Captivate ponack.net

Now, I like it, everything seems okay, but I can't figure out how to change the bar at the bottom. Specifically I'd like to go back to samsung's stock launcher for the icons at the bottom. Any suggestions? I don't know a thing about launcher pro, and it appears that launcher pro is the backbone of this thing.

Also, is there any way to get back the stock android keyboard? It just has the samsung one, and that one sucks. lol

I'd really appreciate any help you guys can give.

Just for clarification purposes, this is what the xda thread said cognition is supposed to look like.

Is it looking like that because launcher pro basically took it over? I tried removing it once and the rom would hang on boot. I just want it to look like the first pic, rather than the second.

Any suggestions?

I can't really offer much help as I'm new to all of this as well. I flashed to Cog v3.04 yesterday and my main screen looks like the 2nd one you posted as well.

I can't figure the Launcher Pro stuff out either. I think that I would prefer the way it looks in the first pic.

Have you had any trouble getting calls? Mine locks up whenever a call comes in.

Don't quote me on this, but the first link has the ADW launcher and the second link is launcher pro. The stock samsung launcher is touchwiz. As far as I know, I dont think you can download touchwiz from the apps store but you can download and try a bunch of different launchers. Best thing to do if you want touchwiz is to google it. Somebody is bound to have it. Use appbrain.com and search for launchers. Use an app called home switcher to switch between launchers.
