Did the old unlock screen also give you the option to go right to left and turn OFF the sound? I don't recall this functionality.

I have quickly learned to love the new unlock screen.

I miss the old one as well.... this one is soo ugly... you have to put extra effort to slide that junk of an unlock bar.. :(

Yeah. The old one was a swipe. This one is a press and drag. It's not as efficient. But it doesn't make me hate the phone.

Oh I love my Droid... love, love, love it... and the update has added some awesome touches but I'm just not fond of the lock screen... oh well, ill learn to like it..just keeping my fingers crossed for them to put it back or improve it... :)

The complaining on this thread (not the OP) is a sign of people with too much money, too much free time, and a refined ability to find things to complain about even in the midst of limitless bounty. ;)

I prefer the new one not because of how it looks but because it's not as easy to accidentally unlock or mute my phone. The old unlock screen I always found my phone on mute or unlocked when I didn't intend to do so. So far, I have yet to accidentally unlock or mute my phone with the new screen.

I love the new clock on the unlock screen. With all the talk of the unlock looking more iphone-like, this is a step away from the iphone, as the original was almost identical.

You people do realize you could drag your finger straight across before and unlock the phone. You can also swipe in the arc now and still unlock the phone. The only thing that has changed is the way it's presented on screen.

If you are dragging your finger any differently you are just waisting effort.

Oh come on! I resisted telling them, this whining was so much fun to watch. :D

It's amazing, isn't it, how much a few colored pixels can confuse the average homo sapiens?

I disagree. If you swipe in an arc now, you will release the icon and it will return to the locked position.

Don't care, mind ya. Just sayin'... :)

I agree much harder to unlock in my pocket.

I don't really mind the new unlock screen. One thing that struck me right away, aside from the swipe to drag change, was the clock widget. I love it. Is it the same one that was on the original screen and I'm just noticing it now cos of its different placement?

Either way I like the look of it and want a that clock widget on my homescreen. Anyone got suggestions :)

The old unlock screen was definitely cooler, but it was a bit harder to understand. I remember being a bit confused on what to do when I got my first call (same swipe/screen thing)
