Hey guys, first time poster that's been following this forum for about a week. Anyway, I ended up buying a Behold 2 off of ebay(new) and I still sorta have a battery problem after reading and doing most of the tips on here. My phone charged overnight and has been unplugged on standby since 7am (now 2pm) and the battery is at 74%. Is this normal? Wifi/BT/GPS are all disabled, I always kill unnecessary tasks w/ taskiller but still...any other suggestions?

Also: it's some cool stuff you guys are doing with the galaxy rom; I tried rooting it last night but got $ when i typed in su instead of #. Oh well, i can wait until the galaxy rom is 100% working, afaik the vibration still isnt. With classes picking up again next week, vibrate would be my only setting.

Haha yeah, I know, long wall of text =P

The battery is pretty bad. Although I have gotten a bit more life by removing a bunch of apps that were constantly starting up for no reason.

What apps were you able to remove without any boot up problems? I've taken off some but I would like to take of more.

There is No Smartphone that I know that goes for 24_36hrs on one charge , these things are like laptops 8hrs with really heavy use is normal . For these phone its mixed , the behold2 has a good battery , but has old android software which gives us bad battery life . Now you can close everything with the task killer crap and not enjoy the full potential of your phone , or just wait for our official 2.x software update which will fix most of our issues . But for now try to get a portable charger or a spare battery ( Samsung omina uses the same battery ) , T-Mobile sells the portable chargers or you can get them off eBay
These are also good for the future ,like on long trips ....

I got a Digipower Jumpstart to keep on my keychain for emergency use. It was $10 at J&R.

Did some more searching and turning off data sync seems to help a bit. Definitely can't wait for 2.x, gonna be sweet.

Yea ok , but what practical use is your phone as a data device if you have nothing running ? Think of all that could go wrong , you lose your phone ,* can't use a location tracker to find It ,data turned off* you add a new contacts and and for some reason you have to hard reset * data is off so the phone won't automatically sync new contacts as they are added * so you lose them , apps open slow cause you killed them all with task killer , and now everytime you need them they have to be re_started * if more of you guys would run ddms tool from the sdk you would see the real memory map of your phone . You will be shocked to see how your phone's memory is structured and even with all the start up apps running how much memory is still available* this will make you less paranoid about *Running* apps using your memory , look up RAM and ROM. Not bashing anyone ..

    dan0zone,

100% agree with ya, why have a smartphone if you turn off it "smart" features?

also is it really a mobile phone if its connected to a charger every 8 hours?

the 57 hour setup was just a test. regular use and setup at hour 16 i am around 50-40% before i charge.

one thing i noticed is that once i deleted advance taskiller my battery life got better and phone lags less. taskillers to me are a waste of time, battery, and memory.
with the random reboots on the behold my phone never gets laggy :)

now to reconfigure back to my normal setup. I missed my twiiter and sports updates.
