HTC Desire seems to be the first device that comes close to matching the functions of my old Windows PDAs (HP and Dell Axim), as well as being a phone and GPS. Generally I'm very pleased. email sync with work is hard, but that's because of our mad security policy. Calendar sync was easier, as I can sync work and home pcs with google calendar, and that appears instantly on the Desire. Importing contacts from phones was hard: automatic linking of duplicates made it hard to edit and update some that came in twice. I like the way contacts from Facebook and gmail merged in seamlessly. Apps seem hard to find. The Market seems incredibly disorganised. I've found a number of apps elsewhere far more easily. However, eReader is only nearly as good as Mobipocket or Microsoft reader : if only I could sort books by date purchased, and it reopened in the right book. Once I select the book, it does remember my last page. I like that the app found all 300+ ebooks I bought from Fictionwise since 2000. It's another app that does not appear on the Android market. Synchronising spreadsheets with 2 pcs seems hard too. Internet radio apps are hard to find, and seem to have poor selections. FM radio seems erratic: some station names appear but not others. Lots of Android apps seem to be "coming" such as trip advisor, booking.com, F1.com (already have iphone and often Nokia/Symbian apps already). So what do I do next?
