Help New user question RE: calendar invites

I just purchased the Samsung Galaxy s and it appears that the only way to send a calendar invite is to email the event to the necessary contacts. I tried this and the person being invited only receives an attachment that can be saved to their Outlook calendar, but there is no option for them to accept or decline the invitation, so I do not know if they accepted or declined. Then if I delete the event, there is not option to delete the meeting and send a cancellation. Is this a limitation or is there a different way to accomplish this action? Thank you.
