new video player for android is available at Mobilesoft,
Flash Video, Xvid/divx and WMV is supported. it's free and highly optimized and very fast.
because it's initial version, it is still very buggy, but worth have a try.
currently it only supports cupcake android 1.5

    get apk file here

(Raises hand) "oo oo oo me me pick me!" uhh question. Would you just download this and save it as an Update file in the SD card in order to get it on my phone...still not sure how to get apps on the phone when downloading them from the web.

You put the app on to the SD card then use a program like apps installer from the market to install it, you need to have the unknown sources box ticked under apps in the settings though.

Running JF1.42 it crashes as soon as I click on the app.

I do have my apps set to run on the sd card, but everything else in my phone runs fine.

you have to unzip it, I believe there might be file programs that do that. Otherwise you attach the phone to your PC and unzip it that way.

Just delete the .zip off the end of the file

    ex.
    app.apk.zip

    app.apk

install using Linda's or any other installer

I am using an HTC Magic with Android 1.5

    But it's a good start!

plays for a second, then audio only. the default mpeg codec works better, dont see flash either.

    no avi.
