New Virgin Mobile phone for May!!!!!!!

Be careful... Phones released after May the 1st 2012 are subject to the increase. I'm sticking with my Optimus V because of this.

Really ~ what kind of crazy rule is this? If you upgrade to a new phone we will penalize you? I can sense a potential class action approaching.

What are the new device upgrade rules?

Starting May 27, 2012, if you are using the $25, $40, or $60 Beyond Talk plan and you upgrade to a Beyond Talk Smartphone launched after May 1, 2012*, you will need to switch to the $35, $45, or $55 Beyond Talk plan. When you switch plans, you will need to pay for your new plan and you will lose any minutes, messages, and money in your balance. This will also change your monthly payment date. So if you are considering upgrading to a new smartphone, we recommend that you wait until right before your next monthly payment date to activate.

*The following smartphones launched before May 1, 2012 and are therefore not subject to the new device upgrade rules at this time: VentureTM, LG

Optimus Elite is being shipped on the 15th so that should still be on the $25 plan.

Virgin Mobile has been tricky.

Optimus Elite was launched after May 1st 2012 therefore will be subject to the new rate plan on the 27th of May 2012.

This is why I have a beef with them.

I have thought of the Triumph as it isn't affected but I have read too many bug stories.

The text they sent out stated that any phones RELEASED after May 27th will have that monthly charge increase.

According to the link in the text, it says that "new smart phones" are any launched in May 2012 and after.

Makes sense ~ decent upgrade. More than I need though. Happy with my Optimus V and Tablet.
