This 4.04 is GB, so cut the guy some slack. We all start somewhere. It just sucks when manufactures don't keep their versions the same the Android keeps there's. Hell, trying to explain CM9=Android4.0 to some people is hard enough.

first Baily im glad you were able to get the update working!

not to be argumentative with you neph cause u know more than me, but how is our 4.04 gb?

Because that is how LG named their revisions and if you're flashing the .cab file, you only see their revision number, not the actual Android OS number.

omg...if u don't know the difference between froyo and ics you reallyshouldn't be messing with your phone end of story.
4.04 is ics!

Such condescending words, especially from a senior member, do nothing except push people away from learning the ins and outs of this very complicated subject. He should be applauded for delving into it in the first place, not berated for whatever temporary lack of knowledge he may have. Knowing more than someone else is worthless if you are not willing to pass that knowledge on.

it wasn't meant to be condescending....rather more of a statement to read up before messing with your phone to help prevent bricking it that's all. if it came off as such that wasn'tmy intent.

Hey Neph, just fixed your links :)

WEBSW changed to WDLSW

Yes LG decided to be annoying and kill a ton of firmware links by simply changing a folder name

Example-

This:
Code:
http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdata/[B][COLOR="Red"]WEBSW[/COLOR][/B]/LGVS920/AVRZBK/VS920ZV4_04/VS920ZV4_04.S4_04.P58012.R5.cab

changed to:
Code:
http://csmg.lgmobile.com:9002/swdata/[B][COLOR="red"]WDLSW[/COLOR][/B]/LGVS920/AVRZBK/VS920ZV4_04/VS920ZV4_04.S4_04.P58012.R5.cab

Cheers!!
