Sorry for the newbie question. Does Wifi or any preinstalled AT&T apps eat up battery life?
Yes, anything running will take battery. What you probably mean to ask is does wifi take more or less battery than 3G. The answer to that is, that it takes less.
As for the apps, the AT&T Hot Spot finder is know to start and run on its own, and yes it uses battery to do so.
Almost all of the att apps startup when you power the phone up.
Advanced Task Killer is a MUST for this phone! I run it everytime I turn on the phone because I usually have about 15 apps running right away. I also check once or twice during the day just to clean things up a bit. It really has made a huge difference in the performance of the phone-- virtually no lag and I never have a problem making it all day on one battery charge.
when your at home or a known wifi area leave it on
when you are out or just wanna save battery life, turn wifi off
Thanks for the info!
