    Hi there,

I'm new to smartphones and new to Android, so some help would be appreciated.

I bought a Galaxy Europa online and it's network unlocked. It was clear however from a couple of apps installed that it had originally been a Three handset.

This didn't matter much as there was very little Three prescence on the phone.

Then I upgraded to 2.2 via Kies, and now I have gained an annoying Three bootup screen and noise, and the same with shutdown.

How can I get rid of these? I'm guessing from what I've read already I would need to root the phone?? But as I said I'm a newcomer to Android, so any advice would be gratefully received.

And also, once rooted, can I uninstall the Three apps that don't work (as I'm on a different network?)

    Thanks in advance,

    Bob
