    Hi All
Sorry to be a pain but just wanted to clarify, i am seriously thinking of rooting my Tmobile Desire 2.2, i just wanted to check...

If i just root my phone will this let me properly move all apps & caches to the sd card or do i need to flash a new rom for that to happen.

Thing is im quite happy with the HTC sense ROM i just hate losing all this space to the apps, obviously i have moved as much as i can using the apps2sd app but it still installs some on the phone and the apps cache still goes on the phone.

    Can anyone clarify please???

    Pete ;)

The best way to get a2SD+ is flashing a custom Rom that includes it. There were methods of installing it manually, but they're old and don't trust them.

You can get sense custom roms so you don't have to lose that

Oh right, i really didn't want to go down the flashing route, don't really want to wipe the phone & just a bit worried about bricking it, i know you will say if you follow the instructions to the letter it should be fine but there is always the chance of a slip up!!

    Perhaps i will have reconsider.

    Thanks

    Pete

There is always a chance. The flash is no more risky than the root imo. It is almost always recoverable though. Haven't heard about one being bricked yet.

anonimouse is a better person to recommend really, as I don't really go for the sense roms.

I usually recommend a modaco rom, but im a bit out of touch at the moment.

He'll be here soon enough though ;)

As long as you know how to flash a zip, you shouldn't have a problem...

Make sure you flash a new radio first too.

I used to use that rom. Its good. Get the middle download.

Try with the radio that is part of the ROM before flashing an alternative though. The one that comes with it is tried and tested working with the rom.

Once you have flashed the rom, use rom manager to partition your card (take all your data off first) to a 512MB, swap 0 EXT partition.

This way, the a2sd+ will automatically install apps on the sd card for you.
