Hey there... New to Android os..
I have been waiting to move to a new phone for a long time.
I was with Nextel for 10yr's... then sprint/nextel for the last few years.
There service was just so so.. but I had to be on a Gov. program for work... so I got a 20% discount over the years. The last phone I had with them was a Moto Q.
My "group" has now contracted with verizon.
I Started out 2 weeks ago with a Blackberry storm 2. I went that route after lots of research on line... etc... I like having a physical key board.. but I also wanted a large screen. I never worked with Blackberry's OS... It was just so so.. for what I do in day to day evolution's, work... etc...
I had I really wanted to go with Androids OS for a few reasons.
The storm 2 was worth a try... I played with it and used it for a week or so...But If your not a Blackberry user already you will most likely not be that impressed. The touch screen is better than storm 1 but still nothing like other touch screen phones. Many of the people I'm in contact with for work and play use blackberry's... They all gave me hell about my old crusty "Q". LOL.
But hey it worked for me. So I ran with the storm 2 but it really just did'nt function like I wanted it to.
The Htc Droid on verizon was a bit to small for my taste... and had no physical key board. I played with it the day it came out. I like the touch OS... it was fast... however...
I like a phone that has feels a bit tough. I came from the days of solid phones from nextel that were a hard to break. The HTC feels a bit to much like a toy.
I took back the Storm 2... and picked up a Moto Droid.
So far it has been a good experience. I'm still working on how to use the different function... but I like how it functions. It feels good in my hand...
It has weight to it. I found the physical key board much better to use than the touch screen on the Storm 2. I like the open OS idea... I don't often use any of what most peole would call normal apps on a phone.
I surf off the grid web sites...etc... I will most likely use or find apps that may be odd for most.
    (just my 2c)
I joined the forums here to increase my learning curve.
    Glad to be here....
