    Hello all,

I'm new here. Every time I Google resolutions to my Android issues, this site comes up, so I decided to register.

I'm here today because this UberSocial App is driving me IN-SANE! It keeps "updating" on my phone and taking up all my internal memory (I have a 32 Gig external SD card). It won't let me move the app to the SD Card, won't let me completely uninstall it, but will only let me uninstall the updates. It does it twice a day and in order to even send a text message, I have to go and uninstall the updates. I don't even use TWITTER! How do I make it stop? I've cleared data and cleared cache. NOTHIN'!

    Please help!

    Welcome to Android Forums, HayWire!

You have a couple of options. First, open up the market app and go to the list of apps installed on your phone (my apps). Scroll down to that app and tap on it. You should be able to uncheck the automatically update check box. This will force you to approve the update before it installs. You will still get notifications that updates are available, but you don't have to update it.

You can root your phone and use Titanium Backup (paid version) to freeze the app. In that instance it won't run or update. You can also uninstall it if you root, but you have to be very careful removing bundled communication apps like this. Many times other parts of the system rely on services they provide and by removing them you can disable or cripple features on your phone.
