The newest version of Google Maps for Android (6.14.2) has a little picture frame icon at my location, wherever I go? Does anyone know what that is or how I can turn it off? I just started appearing.

Possibly latitude. This is a location sharing option with Google maps. You should be able to look through the settings to disable it.

Hmm, I'm pretty sure I have that disabled, but I'll check it again. Thanks!

Ok - it *appears* that if you go into Latitude settings, EVEN IF IT IS DISABLED, it enables the display of the icon, even if you don't actually turn Latitude on. You have to do a "Clear Map" in order to make it go away.

    Looks like a bug.

The icon frame is supposed to show your profile image. For example, I have myself set up in my contacts list and I have the same image set there as I do for here on the forums. So when I open the map and see my own location, I see my little avatar. ;)

If you want to create a cute avatar/profile image that resembles yourself (like I did for mine) you can do so here.
