I dropped my Nexus 4 a while ago, and have some hairline cracks running horizontally across the screen, so that although it's usable the bottom 25% of the screen isn't touch responsive - meaning I have to keep rotating it to access the controls. Looking at eBay there seem to be two options in terms of replacing the screen. Do I need to go down the more expensive route, e.g.:

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Full-LCD-...377215?hash=item2a2d0bd77f:g:Or8AAOSwLVZV7UnP

    or the cheaper one e.g.:

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LG-Google...f74f9792832804577b1c14&pid=100505&rk=1&rkt=1&

The latter doesn't include a LCD. Given that the display works fine throughout I assume this cheaper option will suffice, but I would like some reassurance that my thinking is sound on this.

The LCD itself is generally fused to the digitizer. I'm not even sure how to separate the two in order to facilitate the replacement. I'd just go for the full LCD assembly. I replaced it on my Nexus 4 without any problems. It's a pretty straightforward repair.
