i want to purchase a new nexus 5 phone. can i use a straight talk sim card in it?
According to the frequencies I see listed, yes. Order a microSIM.
First order of business, though. Determine whether AT&T or TMobile will give you better coverage in the places you need coverage. Then you'll know whether to order the AT&T SIM or the TMobile SIM (Straight Talk uses both - you choose the towers you want your phone to use). When you get to the "Please choose the type of phone you have" page, choose the carrier that gives you the better coverage (that you've already determined).
There's no difference in price, minutes, data - just in coverage, and that depends on where you are and where which towers are. Ask people who are where you need coverage and seem to be having problems which carrier they're on - that's not the one you want.
