with 4.4.1 .... haven't gotten the other update yet. I have video of this Christmas display at night too. Turned out good as well.

Question...how's video voice quality before and after the update.

I use my phone to film some stuff for my business...and honestly video quality is fairly good, but the sound is pretty horrid. Did your sound improve after the update?

To be honest, I always thought the sound quality was pretty good before and after.

I reviewed this phone fairly well before I purchased it. Most of the reviews regarding audio quality ( during video recording ) were pretty good. Even compared with some HIGHER END PHONES... which I will not name lol.

Your opinion might be more critical than mine though, as you film stuff for your business. I just take random videos every now and then, but I have thought the audio quality was good before and after the update.

I have a health club and usually film some of the popular classes that we offer and the sound when the video is played on my nexus 5 is just bad!!! Even at very low volume it just sounds terrible...I would describe it as muffled. You can't even make out what song is being played during the class...I'm more inclined into thinking this is a hardware issue and may be my unit and not the software.

I don't know if this means anything at all but I read somewhere that people with the white 32GB models were experiencing glue stuck to the inside of the speaker? That would surely affect video playback. As luck as it that's the model I have.

I don't remember seeing specific models mentioned when that was first reported, but I haven't followed it much. I checked my speakers when some were having issues, no glue here (32gb white also)

You can check pretty easily to see if there's glue blocking the speaker. You'll just need a flashlight and to look into the left set of holes on the bottom

Mine is 100% a hardware issue...Got 4.4.2 this morning and pics are deff faster and all that but I have an audio problem. Just recorded a video in my house with no background noise and you can hear a very loud fuzz in the background, almost like wind...very weird. Yea I'm chalking mine up to hardware. Going to call Google this morning.

Man that stinks. Sorry to hear that. I have heard some other people saying the same thing. They say they hear a crackling noise...some were saying they think it has something to do with the noise cancellation mic.

Sarcasm aside though, I've noticed I have to use the "tap the screen to focus" for almost every picture I take. It wasn't like that with my GNex. Still, as long as the picture comes out well after that, I don't really care.

There's no reason to have a separate point-and-shoot camera. The HDR+ is really cool if you're taking a picture of something that's not moving.

My photos are almost all family and friends photos, so I won't post any here.

The camera is good, but app doesn't make the best use of it. I installed A Better Camera. Apart from lacking photosphere and having some problems with panoramic, it creates a better picture than the stock app every time.
