    Hi all,

I've had my Nexus 5 for a few years now, in fact it was an original pre-launch order.

After a year it started lagging so I performed a cache partition wipe which fixed it for several months. It started lagging again so I repeated the cache wipe which improved it again.

However recently the phone is starting to lag within a week or so of having a cache partition wipe. Can anyone suggest what else I can try?

I was thinking there was a hardware or battery problem but considering a cache partition wipe fixes the lag completely I don't think that's the case.

The lag effects app launch, keyboard opening and typing.

It's fully up to date running Android 6.0.1.

  2. Try flashing twrp and use a stable custom rom
  3. Or try to downgrade it to Lollipop or Kitkat

Just do a factory reset. Make sure you backup your photos, contacts, and files first
