Nexus media importer

I downloaded nmi to my Nexus 7 after reading that the latest version can work both ways...that is read and write files to the storage USB device or to the tablet..However it still only copy's from the external USB connection to the tablet...is there anything app or prog that will move and copy from the tablet to the external storage device as well..why is this so difficult to do..otherwise how do I transfer or upload to a cloud drive like Google Drive...have some large apps that need to be moved to save space...also can you play a game app directly when stored on a cloud drive.....any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...or else any pm's......thx
