Help nexus one is very hot

I recently bought the case-mate tough case for my nexus one. I noticed after putting the case on it has gotten hotter. It has reached up to 110F not plugged in to anything. Has anyone had this problem? Is it the case that is not letting it cool off? Or is this a problem with the phone itself?

is it like that without the case? if not, id loose it. if it does, its more than likely a phone defect. mine never seems to get above ~92* and thats charging and using it simultaneously.

I have that same case, and I have never noticed it getting that hot. Make sure you don't have funky settings or programs that are making your processor go haywire or something, and then try charging the phone without the case and see if it's any better. I can't imagine it's the case, but it isn't like I haven't been wrong before.

Last night i was testing it with and without the case. When i put on the case the temp increased 2-3F and when i took the case off it went down. This is weird. Is this case doing more damage than it is protecting it?

Dunno. When I talked to my roommate about the heat produced by the phone when charging (hes an electrical engineer, so I trust his word more than my random heresay) he said that the processors are designed to operate quite well at temperatures over 100 degrees. Otherwise, anyone in a southern state wouldn't be able to use it, as the air temperature would cause the phone to be that hot by itself, let alone with the phone running. Take from that what you will. What I tend to do is when home or charging I will have the case off, and put it on when I know I'll be leaving the phone on a desk all day (like at work) or I feel like I'll be placing it about somewhere. Do what you think is best for the phone. You did pay for it after all

Yeah sounds like a good idea. Want to keep this running as cool as possible. gotta get good battery life.

if you're looking to keep it cool, i would look into oc.uv the phone and then clocking it way back while charging, and also an active battery widget that will reflect the temp.
