Ok well I got this app that shows in full detail how much RAM and Flash I have on my nexus one as well as SD card and battery. The one I'm using is called eRay btw so you can check it out with the trial. I've tried multiple system monitors but they all come out to about the same amount of ram and flash. 212 MB for RAM and 196 MB for flash, which comes out to about 256 MB for each. Now, I don't know how much the android OS uses or if its included in these numbers but it just seems kinda fishy to me that those particular numbers show up instead of the 512 MB that was advertised. I just got my N1 so I've been playing with it for the past couple of days so I'm not experienced yet with Android. Can anyone shed some light on this?

It's not wrong. It's just that the stock kernel is the .29 version and can't "see" all of the memory. The phone does, physically, have 512 MB of RAM. You'll just have to wait until the next update which will hopefully bring the kernel up to .32.
