Hey all. I have an unlocked N1 which has RA recovery/backup installed?..i think, its been a long time..sorry for newbieishness(is that a word):)..Anyway..I have reset the device and now am on stock build number ERD79..firmware 2.1. If i do a wipe of the device when I restart i get the over the air update to 2.2. It downloads and verifies but when i restart i go to the bootloader? screen? and I get an install failed message.
Any help or ideas about what I am doing wrong?

    Custom recovery = no OTA.

Revert to a stock one, or download an FRF91 update for rooted phones.

    Ok thanks.
I have also tried downloading the update and installing manually. No go.
So what do I have to do to update my N1 to Froyo?

I wasn't able to get my non-stock recovery to get through the update of FRF91 or 85B without errors. I was getting errors on updating the boot section of the device. I decided to revert to stock image and stock recovery - and the 91 update downloaded and updated the phone soon after. Not sure what I was missing when the custom recovery was on the phone, but at least now I am full Froyo fun.

You can restore your Nexus One to factory setting and connect with internet by 3G or WiFi to check about OTA update. When you rooted your phone or restore your firmware from custom ROOM, that's mean there are no OTA for you anymore.
