Well after seeing the failure of the iphone 4s which was supposed to be my new phone I've decided to jump ship and join the android community. My question is should I get the samsung galaxy s2 or wait for the nexus prime.

    Welcome to the forums!

Tough call. Do you have a preference for carrier (if in USA)?

Sprint would be the way to go. If you have the money maybe check out Verizon.

Everything I have seen points to the prime being on VZW while there is no SGS2 on VZW so really whatever carrier you choose will dictate which one you get.

You should probably wait if the Prime really does live up to the expectation.

Wait for the Nexus the upgraded resolution will really plug the only weakness in the SG2

I have the Epic 4G Touch, its a great phone. The only question is whether Sprint will get the Nexus Prime, not much is known so its all rumor on that question at the moment. I don't really think you could go wrong with either one.

I will say, the E4GT is the only phone I haven't insta rooted. Mostly because it kicks pretty good ass without the need to root. I plan on rooting when I have a reason to, such as a good ROM, etc.

I can't say for sure but I don't think Sprint will get the prime, I don't think Samsung wants to be competing against itself with the S2G and the prime out there hence VZW not getting the S2G. I could be wrong.

I think Sprint will get it, the question is when. I think it'll be released on Verizon for a while 1st, then probably come down the pipeline to other carriers later (Give Verizon a few months of exclusivity, etc).

None of us really know what they're planning though, so hard to make decisions based on rumors.

Yeah I could see that happening. It could also give Sprint a chance to build up their LTE network if they are still looking into doing that since WiMax seems to be going the way of betamax, laser disks, and HDDVDs

I really hope the next nexus comes to sprint or t mobile, I won't ever go back to Verizon and their terrible customer service. If not then I will be getting a GS2, but I need my unlimited data.
