well this years new update to the mobile app now blacklists rooted phones but i found a version (not sure which one) that WILL ALLOW you to use the app on rooted devices (im using it on my N7 and my Lg Motion) anyone who wants it here you go

PS, i guarentee NOTHING (lol all should work fine tho)

I just downloaded it out of curiosity. Wow. I left them a nasty review... there's no logical reason that I can think of for them to do that.

NFL mobile app is just barely a necessary evil. It's well designed, but a resource hog. It is easy to get news from but nothing is unique about it. I use it a lot during the season, but I use Schefter's twitter feed more.

Thanks for the post but you will still have to update this app for the score center to show for this year. I am pissed off and have emailed their support team as well as left them a nasty review. The version you posted is 3.7.856 which is the same version that I grabbed back when they updated for the draft. Is there any way one of these awesome developers could maybe modify the app so that we can use it on rooted phones? I know I for one would pay the developer for all their hard work if they could. The new verion is 8.0.26

Yea I dl'ed the one you posted then I checked the version numbers on my titbu backup and they were the same. Lsst year the app was the same way as far as the draft version and the regular season version, so no we won't get live scores. I think I am gonna just use the espn scorecenter app. It was my backup last year when the nfl app was messing up. Really lame move on the NFL's part

Are you ready for some football!? If you're rooted, I hope not! As of the latest update, dated 8/5, rooted users are out of luck.

Yes this is the current version of the app and everything will work. I updated the op's apk link the point to the new version.

Works here in China as well for live scores. Should keep a few American expat friends of mine happy.

It seems more and more app makers (from larger companies) are making this decision, and, obviously, it's lame... and of course they have the right to do this (so please don't argue that point) but it goes against the concept of Android's openness.

So, even if you have no interest in the NFL, I encourage all of you to download the app from the play store and review it at 1 STAR as a sign of protest. I've seen the app's rating go from 4.7 to 4.0 in the last couple days due to all the rooted users protesting the NFL's choice to do this.

I saw an update for the NFL app tonight (8/8/2013) and figured it was to remove this non-root only restriction. But then I saw this at the bottom:
