Anyone excited for the Nintendo 3DS reveal this week at E3 2010?

I sure am. This thing is going to steal the show.

I haven't read a lot about it but I just bought my wife a DSi to use an a small web browser. We can't really afford/justify a second data plan so she uses the DSi on wifi when away from home. i wonder if the larger screen will make a better web browser.

I'm supposed to go on a Nintendo Booth walkthrough around 5:00 Tomorrow...But I don't know if I can attend, since I double booked that time slot. If I do, I'll be sure to post pics/impressions... :)

I love the look of the new 360 slim. It may not be really "slim" when compared to the PS3 Slim, but it does look awesome.

OT: I am very excited for the new 3DS. Can't wait for it's reveal tomorrow morning. I want to see what this thing looks like.

I think Nintendo will definitely take over this E3. The 3DS news is just too huge. Xbox 360 Slim... yeah we knew that was coming a long time ago. 3DS? We barely know anything about it.

Yeah. There's just so much mystery surrounding the 3DS...

How will they pull off the "3D without glasses trick?"

Is this thing really more powerful than a Wii?

What are some of the launch titles for the 3DS?

    When is it coming out?

Not sure how Ninty is gonna take over E3 with their casual gaming approach. Not too many casuals attend E3, and the hardcore/competitive crowd is the primary audience eyeing these conferences.

The only way big N gets my attention is if they stop making low-end platforms with nothing but a dozen good exclusive titles and mountains of shovelware.

so it seems from everything i've read that for the most part nintendo's was quite yawn inducing. zelda controls were glitchy as hell and pretty much everything they showed looked like it was taken from wii sports resort and put into other games then called revolutionary.

3ds seems cool, i dunno, never been much the type to carry portable games with me though, i got some stuff on my droid to keep me entertained if need be.

I'm looking at it for a non phone based web browser, since there isn't much in the way of non phone android devices. Wife and kids all want something similar to my droid but were not going to be paying for 4 data plans so something small with a browser and wifi will work. The Dsi works but it little slow, so if the 3ds is faster it may fulfill the need.

I can't believe how much Nintendo are driving this hype machine. It depresses me how naive consumers (and the media are).

Some people are even claiming that Nintendo "stole the show", despite knowing nothing about the 3DS, how it magically creates 3D without glasses. The answer is, it doesn't it's a very crude form of 3D using Parallax Barrier display.

However we all know know how it works. You build massive amounts of hype based purely on lies, rumours and half truths, ensure your product is drip feed to stores to create an illusion of crazy demand, and you will be sure to have queues of clueless idiots standing outside stores at midnight and fighting other clueless idiots to get ahold of one.

I guarantee right now, that the 3D won't come anywhere close to what active shutter glasses on a proper 3D system will deliver.

I also guarantee the stories leaked (by Nintendo) to the press about the 3DS having graphics that match the PS3 and Xbox360 are totally laughable....

I want this for Resident Evil Revelations, I heard about it and in my mind the 3DS became an instant buy.

When did you know about it? I'm relatively certain no information was ever leaked to the public about it.

With Sony PS3 Slim, Microsoft HAD to make a revision of its own. I would've been genuinely SHOCKED if they didn't decide to refresh the console. This always happens.

Where have you read that? Article please! It has been compared to the PS2, not PS3 or 360.

    Rumor: 3DS "Close To" 360, PS3 Graphics

Nintendo 3DS Portable Will Rival PS3 For Graphics - ITProPortal.com

Companies know that they can leak this crap, and it stays around for years, and people believe to it be true. Take the "PS3 Blu-Ray is slower than DVD" myth, than most Xbox owners even know still believe to be totally true.... Someone posts a BS story before PS3 launch and 4 years later people still quote it as some kind of fact (even blogs than claim to be reputable like Joystiq and Kotaku).

Found a flaw. The first article is labeled incorrectly by the website. It CLEARLY says that these "developers" believe that it has "processing abilities" that exceed the Wii and are closer to the PS3 and Xbox 360. Most people overlook that part and believe that they meant graphics. Who knows what those "developers" meant by abilities. That is purely a rumor that Nintendo wouldn't "leak" because who would believe that? To immediately assume that they "leaked" false information like that is completely jumping the gun. The 3D technology is enough to have people interested.

I'm interested to see how Nintendo use the 3D effect in games. Before the original DS came out people were mocking it for low power/poor graphics and a wacky interface. But with some great games it has become an immense success. If the 3D works well in games then it'll be awesome. Who cares if it's only "fake" 3D?

You really think that because of piracy, the DS is a success? I wonder if all of the little boys and girls that have it are all pirating games.

If piracy makes a success, then the Sega Dreamcast blew everyone out of the water.

I think he's referring to the PSP. Piracy killed the PSP, making it easier for the DS to succeed.

    Vihzel Destroying Balls Everyday

Oh ok. I didn't see any mention of the PSP in his post. It looked like he was referring to the DS.

Doesn't really explain the low hardware sales in comparison to the DS.

Absolutely. Look at the attach rates for DS, it's truly abysmal. Every single person I know with a DS has it because R4 cartridges are so cheap ad easily available.

Interesting to see some peoples opinion here, that if you don't like Xbox, you must be a fan-boy.... It's rather hilarious infact...
