So I put some mkv files on my Nexus and the video plays perfectly but there is no audio? Does anyone know why this is?

And, if it won't play the audio, does anyone know of a good mkv converter?

    Thanks!!

Are you using the stock player? Have you tried something like Rockplayer or Moboplayer? Rockplayer has been able to play every file I've ever tried to play with it so it might be worth giving that a whirl?

Could be the files have dts or DD audio streams which android doesn't natively support.

The audio codec probably isn't supported. Aftermarket players like moboplayer and mx video player use software decoders so they play almost any format. The default android one doesn't support as many types.

Thank you for the replies. I will give those players a shot. Normally I use Act 1 Video Player so hopefully these other ones work.
