There are a number of apps I have on the desire yet I can't see on the wife spica.

One such app is batterytime lite by Motelan.

Has anyone contacted Samsung on this issue?

There are a number of reasons Apps can fail to appear on Market.

    for example.

If your phone does not meet the install requirements of the s/w. ie Firmware version.
If you are based in a country where the App is not approved for sale.
If the App is new, (it can take up to 48 hours to appear).

I run firmware 2.1, and some apps where the developer has hard coded an earlier firmware as a requirement will not show up.

For info, I just checked Market, and I cannot see "Motelan" either.

If it's a free App, back it up with SystemPanel to your SD, put that SD in the wifey's phone,
and install it with Astro FileManager

Looks like I'll have to, but it means there are so many apps Spica owners are missing out on!

The solution could be to hassle the developers to update their s/w for 2.1.

It's not a 2.1 issue. There are NO copy protected apps for 1.5 that I can see on my old Hero - batterytime being one such example ;)

    I found batterytime no problem.
