No Google Keyboard?

Hey everyone, first post here, hopefully this is the right area.

I just bought a Nexus 5 (4.4.4) and began the setup routine, but the only available input option is Google Voice Typing. I tried to add a new Keyboard/Input Method but there is nothing listed other than Google Voice Typing.

Any help would be great!

no real benefit. Just a preference. It works really well.
