Before I updated to 2.2 I turned off the default lock screen and kept off through the update process and now with 2.2 there is no option to turn it back on only the pin, password and pattern options are available. Anyone have a suggestion as to how to get it back?

2.1 included a option in the location and security settings page.

    really? in security i have:
    change lock pattern
    require pattern
    use visible pattern
    use tactile feedback
    set up sim card lock
    visible passwords
    install from sd card
    set password

    two greyed out options
    clear storage

    location is a seperate setting
    use secure credentials

I was having the same confusion.
But the right answer is "Change Lock Pattern" which when I clicked that and saw a pattern screen I like some users mis-interpreted it as simply the beginning of a reset sequence, old, new, confirm new; not a re-confirm password before showing you a menu of things to do: None, Pattern, PIN, Password.
