    Hello,

I'm owner of a xperia x8 and I've got a problem. My phone does not contain enough internal memory to install all (for me) necessary apps.

I've rooted my phone but I don't know how to move apps. So could anyone tell me how to move them to my sd card (I've got Android 2.1)?

It is my understanding that apps on the sd card are only supported in 2.2 or higher.

Link2SD works for Android 1.6+ if you are rooted and have 2 partitions on SD card.

I second that. I have been able to move almost anything to my SD card and gained room for literally dozens and dozens more apps and still have room for more.

Today I tried to install app2sd on my phone, but it failed I used this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=8579902. It also worked, but my phone memory was too full to install app2sd and now I can't unroot my phone: - exec '/system/bin/sh' failed: Exec format error (8) -,

Otherwise my phone couldn't connect to wifi!!.

A couple of hours ago I total reseted my phone and sd card and now I got the problem that my phone don't detect my sim card (and others)

The answer to this all should be reinstalling android, but this is impossible because I dont have netwerk service.

I'm really desperate now. PLEASE HELP!

    @jipthebest,
It's like from one disaster to another...

If you had a nandroid backup (every rooted user must take care to have one!), then just restore it.

If you don't have a nandroid backup, then just flash a custom ROM.

If you don't have a custom ROM, them just flash a RUU (ROM Upgrade Utility).

If your phone is (was) branded, then put a Gold card in it.

If you wanted to have a 2nd partition on SD card, then simply make one using a partition software on PC.

Just save your sd card data to a PC then either create a second partition using a recovery or use a partition manager program on your PC while your phone is connected or your SD card is in a card reader on the PC. I made my partition size 1024 MB and it works fine. I have a 16 GB SD card installed.

Another program that will move more programs (but not completely - like App2SD does) to the SD card is Move2SDEnabler. This allows you to move apps that are normally blocked. This program is also for rooted phones and does not require a second partition on your SD card.

You can flash a custom ROM from the Recovery, and you can flash a RUU when connected to PC.
Check out the rooting FAQs in your phone forum for the exact steps.

Yes, but I avoid using ROM Manager, because it causes too many fails.

I think you will get the best help if you ask the mods to move this topic to X8 forum: Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 - Android Forums
Rooting and custom ROMs are topics best discussed with those who own a similar phone.
