I was really looking forward to this phone. It seemed to have everything the other upcoming phones lacked: big removable battery, external sd slot, very good performance.

As of a couple of days ago, I will not wait any longer. The lack of information on when and where, and no news on even when news of the release might be available, coupled with the surprisingly good features of the Samsung Galaxy S3 decided me.

Huawei lost out, because they don't communicate their progress. A shame really...

The CommunicAsia event in Singapore is on right now, Huawei is there showcasing all their new stuff and should be giving release dates.
I'm starting to get nervous though, I'm worried we'll just get dates for the P1 which goes on sale in Q3...

I'm also thinking with this overpromotion of the old-tech P1, that Huawei don't understand how the phone game works, they can't seriously think they can release them individually to spread out a single product range or something- the rule is that when you announce phones together, you release them together.

edit - ok I have bad news, on their twitter page a 25minute old message says "pricing for the Ascend D1 Quad has not yet been confirmed. We'll keep you posted with details."
With this comment, I'm not sure if they're distantly serious, or playing super-coy up against the wall, with a guy at the event about to give said info on the 'other side', hmmm.

Well it was nice knowing you Flumme lol. :(

They might lose me aswell if they carry on like this, the longer this drags on, the more that they're going to have to upgrade that camera, 8 megapixels ain't going to braze the onions in October.
By then they'll have the iPhone 5 to duel with aswell as the S3, and the original iP4 had an 8mpx camera, I doubt Apple will stick with an 8 when they have an open goal to score in with a greater mpx BSI unit.

(I know cameras aren't everything, but they do give away how old a phone's insides are, along with cores/ghz, in fact they go hand in hand)
