I've attached my HTC Desire S to my laptop so that i can transfer all the images on the microSD to the HDD there as back up incase the phone gets damaged (as has happened in the past)

I've been through the majority of the folders available in the window, some that are completely irrelevant to media, and can't find any of the pictures.

What is the name of the subfolder that my photo's will be stored in, or are they on the SD card which makes them invisible?

Any help would be awesome, cause there are pictures of my sons first birthday on here an i really don't want ot lose them

    Thanks

They'll be in DCIM, usually in a folder inside that named Camera.

As far as I'm aware, the files should be in a folder called DCIM.

In the meantime, sign up to a cloud backup service like dropbox or copy so they're at least backed up somewhere.

Also, if you have issues over USB, try Airdroid, that lets you transfer to a PC using WiFi.
