no service, yet i can still recieve and make calls

    so far, my phone has been without service for nearly a week, yet i can still make calls, and recieve calls. and im not talking about using any google voice apps, or calls over wifi. im talking about calls, straight through my phone. last week on saturday, my month was up, and decided to wait a week to start up my service again, and sunday morning, i recieved a call from my friend, and i was fairly shocked, considering i had been without swrvice for a day. so i checked if i could still use texting, no luck. checked if i could use 3g mobile web, no luck. then i checked my account, and it redirected me to the usual "top up now blah blah, must pay this much for service again blah blah" and every day of the week so far, i checked if i still had this "free" calling without phone service, or whatever you wanna call it, and sure enough, i can still make, and recieve calls. i wonder if it has anything to do with me not using all of my 300 minutes... although this is the absolute first time i experienced this "free service" in the past 2 years of being with virgin mobile. but also a part if me thinks that this was VM's "christmas gift" to its customers. or if its just a nice little bug in the system that they have over looked.

    Are you sure your not getting charged 10c a minute?
    Standard practice for those that run out of minutes.
    You might want to call VM and see how much your free service is costing you.

    Andy is right, you may be running up a good sized bill with them, without even realizing it. For the record, though, when my month is up my phone just won't make calls at all. I'd call VM, just to be on the safe side.

    Yeah I put 5 dollars extra on my account when I very first activated in case I needed to make calls after my month was up and the couple times I've ran out it cuts me off completely also, so I third the suggestion to call VM

    I would at least log in to their website and check your account and call log.

    i had no money on my account, but 2 cebts.i just topped up today, and i wasnt charged anything extra, and my sister told me that, no matter how many calls she made, her minutes used remained at 200, since avout 2 or 3 weeks ago, and still remain to this day.. fairly strange if you ask me.

    Karma has a bad way of coming back to bite you in the ass. Just my humble two cents, but Id call VM and get that cleared up. You just never know when they'll decide to be arseholes and back-charge you for their mistakes because regardless of what shows up in the web account, it will be in their database.

    I agree. It's better to cover your rear, than leave it exposed for them to bite into(and usually at the worst possible time).

    Did you refer someoe to VM?? I know they give you a free 100 min. or someting along that line also. My minutes stayed the same till I used up my free minutes.

    I did that once and they never gave me my credit. After 3 phone calls with women who barely spoke English, I finally gave up. I'm amazed they didn't block my number from calling support again. Hell hath no furry like a woman screwed out of her cell phone minutes!

    Well, I'm not going to lament them flaking out on a program I didn't even know existed until yesterday. It wouldn't be the first time, and life is too short and stressful to borrow more stress! :)

    if i ever do get charged, il deal with it then.i only used about 60-90 minutes, if not, then a lot less. i hace refered my friend to virgin mobile, but he hasnt activated his phone yet, hes waiting till jan. 10th, when his verizon contract is over. i have sent virgin mobile an email, buylt have yet to recieve one back.
