Help No sound when I get a text

My Galaxy S is only vibrating when I get a text, it's no longer ringing. I'm not really sure what else to do. I've gone through my settings and everything seems normal. Nothing has been changed.
Has anyone else had this problem?
And if so, what is the solution?

HELP! I'd rather not sit on the phone with AT&T for hours if I don't have too.

Hmm i had also this for a while.. But i went into settings and found out my volume for call and text was lowered to zero.
If its not that then i cannot help.

Turn on driving mode to see if that works

Even though the volume was up the notifications was all the way down.

Unfortunately today my sound went out completely. No music, no video, no calls, no texts. No sound at all and they are all up this time.
This week seems to be a bad week for my phone!
