According to THIS there is no voice dialing over bluetooth on the EVO. If so this is a big bummer. I was so used to using it on my WinMo HTC Touch :(

2.2 coming soon. I expect it fixed then.

  3. That plus manually having to click the bluetooth headset on via the touchscreen for calls in the car are the only significant drawbacks I have found with my Evo so far versus my crackberry.

Wow, my pre doesn't have voice dial either but at least I can answer from headset. I think I'm going to wait until 2.2 comes out before I take the leap.

You will be able to answer from your headset as far as I understand it. We just need to wait for FroYo for the voice dialing. FroYo is rumored to be out in July anyway so why would you wait?

I just purchased a blueant q1 for my voice dialing needs. I found it for $23 online today only. Although I like the h17 I wear now I couldn't pass up a good deal

Wow, that is a deal. Where did you find the Blue Ant that cheap?

I really hope HTC steps up their game on the EVO FroYo release.

not a deal breaker for me. besides, i don't use a bt headset anymore since i'm gonna use an AUX input into my car stereo.

This issue is definitely fixed in Froyo... I posted this question in the Nexus One forum and several people running Froyo confirmed that voice dialing for sure works in it.

  13. SWEET!!! I miss having that feature, was disappointed when I found out that my DI didn't have it.
