just installed 2.2.1 rc4 from openEtna and well. for the life of me i cannot get wifi going. every time i try it just says "error". anyone else had this problem?

rc4 just came out yesterday so i think there must be others installing this. :)

I installed rc4 last night on our phones and the wifi is working, we upgraded from rc3 and i didn't do a wipe.
There is a known issue with wifi at the moment that seems to make the phone unresponsive when wifi is enabled but not connected, twice while driving home from work my phone wouldn't wake up and i had to pull the battery. My wife has reported the same thing.

just managed to solve this problem after countless hours of messing around.

    try the following in cmd

adb shell rm -R /data/misc/wifi and reboot

works for me.. so far. havent gone anywhere outside of my wifi coverage so we'll see if i experience any of the issues you did. i hope not.
