Will there be Noise reduction off on Marshmellow? This "nice" option makes my Z2 unusable. I can make calls with extremely bad sound quality on receiving side by holding my finger on backside microphone.

20.05.2016 Came system update. Noise redution off is possible again. All problems gone.

I have the Samsung S5 and Note 4, on both, I have to turn off Noise Reduction or I get complaints about lousy audio.

Seems like only way to speak on phone again is to buy Windows or Apple phone.

I ductaped my back microphone, still my friends say , I can't hear and poor quality. So this cheap phone users are out of Android comfort zone. That must be reason they squashed Z2.

You do NOT have to buy Apple or Windows phones, just get a good Android phone if the one you have won't work correctly for you.

    visit www.Swappa.com
sell the one you have, and get a Samsung or other major brand.
    Stay away from the clones.

    ...or a BlackBerry? :)

or any Android phone that doesn't have a "backside microphone" or "noise reduction" feature
. I've never had one of these Sony devices, except a Sony-Ericsson T68i 15 years ago.

That idiotic Noise reduction is active on every android phone, since Marsmellow. You can't turn it off. My question was, will it be? If not i go to store and buy windows phone, with speak.

AFAIK active noise reduction is a hardware feature, that involves two microphones, one away from the mouth, that combine external noise to give a cancellation effect. And is something that only certain phones have, like Sony Xperia Z2 apparently.

Z2 and its feature on Android. They removed on/off option on last update. This piece of shit has been harrasing android users about 3 years. I don't know if their only goal is to sell more to keep this shit on or are they just dum?

Never seen it and I don't know of anybody else who's had this problem, and I've seen a lot of Android phones, mostly Chinese brands though.

This problem occures when you have solid case (waterproof) and Good quality back microphone. Sound goes inside phone to back mick and result is bad quality or no speak.

That could be a problem, because I should imagine a waterproof case might be rather soundproof as well, i.e. it could be blocking the phone's microphone holes. Which not really Marshmallow's fault I don't think. I've never used a waterproof case at all, and I don't know anyone else who does.
