So, already HATING the fact this phone isn't carrier branded. No HD calling, I've even heard 4g doesn't work while on calls.

No visual voicemail at all. Side Loaded the apk and it says device not supported.

Android pay doesn't work due to unlocked bootloader!! FFS!!

May be returning it just because of these things. I'll take the bloatware, just give me a VZW version...

Sprint signed another one of those cockamamie exclusivity deals that have been plaguing the US mobile industry for a number of years. Its difficult to know for sure if this blocked the other carriers from branding or if they didn't also brand because they weren't interested?
AT&T has been off the HTC bandwagon for a number of years. VZW seems most interested when they get a device specially made for them or can block one from the other carriers

Its so dumb. I can't even buy the Black HTC U11 (Sprint version) from HTC, the maker of the phone. Black(Sprint Version) can only be purchased directly from Sprint, whereas Blue can be purchased from HTC.com or Sprint.

Frustrating and ultimately hurts the phone sales....

Jury is out if I'll return the phone or not, but seriously, this is some BS

Surely Android Pay objecting to unlocked bootloader would be true whether a carrier model or not? Just that a carrier would probably prevent you unlocking the bootloader.

(I've never bought a carrier-branded htc and my phones have always come with a locked bootloader, so I'm assuming that you unlocked it rather than there being a major policy change).

Fellow on Elevate said there was talk about this on XDA and a firmware update fixed it. I haven't updated since checking but sure enough I open it and it is fine now... weird. Cross one thing off my pissd off about list.
