I'm new to Android and have been using a Plantronics Voyager Legend with my BlackBerry. With the BlackBerry the headset would vocally ask what I wanted to do, to which I would say a command like "Call Lisa mobile"... and the headset would reply "calling Lisa mobile 1".

The replies to spoken commands was sometimes difficult to understand, but the end result was satisfactory.

Now with the Note 3, it seems to go to S-Voice, which is always quite clear, but is very slow to respond and makes no announcement when pressing the command button.

If I catch it right, I will get a response from S-Voice asking me to confirm a command, but again, it is very slow to respond. I don't know if it wants me to say "yes" or "confirm".

I've tried to disable S-Voice, but it seems to become active by itself.

Probably an idiot question, but I'm fairly technical and still having a hard time with this issue. Any help would be appreciated!

Hi LANman2.....I am not completely certain what you are asking so I'm just going to take a stab at it.

I don't have the Note 3- just the Note 2 and I am going to go on the fact that S-Voice isn't that much different between both phones.

When you open S-Voice, there is an icon to the left of the mic. That icon is for voice feedback. Is yours disabled?

I rarely use S-Voice so if my help is no help to you then my apologies in advance.

The new S Voice on the Note 3 doesn't have the voice feedback icon and I haven't found a way to disable or minimize it.

I came from the Note 2 to the Note 3 and agree with LANman2's frustration. S Voice on the Note 2 was much faster and more simple. When the new S Voice was first leaked, I put it on my Note 2 and hated it there, so I removed it.

I was hoping the lag and bloat would be fixed on the Note 3 but it wasn't. Does anyone know if the Note 2's S Voice can be installed on the Note 3? I probably have it in a backup somewhere, but a download link would be great.

It seems like S-Voice is like the iPhone Siri and is controlled by a server in the cloud.

Were as before the voice commands were handled by the local phone/headset.

Go to Applications, found s-voice, clear cache, clear data and disable. It is worked for my with the same issue.

I wonder if i's a carrier thing? My Note 3 from T-mobile has the little head with two sound wave icons on it and when I tap on it it says Voice prompt: If voice feedback is disabled there will be no voice feedback. When I'm using my Bluetooth headphones and I hit the call button I hear a couple of loud beeps which let me know s-voice is listening. When I tell it to call a person it asks me Do you want to call "whoever"? and I have to reply yes before it initiates the call.
