Hey guys, just curious, lets say I bought a couple of apps from market and decided to change my mobile, will the apps sync automatically to the new device?

    thanks in advance..

Yes,if you keep phone backed up with Google. If not, as soon as you logged in to market, your purchased apps will show.

Unless you are rooted, data will not be saved.

The apps are tied to your Google account, not the phone. The data the above poster is referring to is the settings and info you've used for those apps.
You will not have to repurchase any of the apps.
I've read that Jerry's backup utility can backup your data without root, but if your only concern is getting your apps back, there is nothing to worry about.

One caveat for the OP. The apps themselves will load on the new phone, the data will not. You will have to sign in to apps like Facebook and games like Angry Birds all save data will be lost unless you back it up (through root) and restore on your new device.

What I do, in case my phone explodes:

    1. Back up all the apps as SDKs on my SD with AppMonster Pro, so I can reinstall then on the new phone by swapping the SD over, or from SD copies on my PC.
    2. Keep a list of everything installed with MyAppsList, just to make sure I didn’t forget something.
    3. To repopulate the new phone exactly like the old, I use a screenshot app that is no longer available, but I’m sure there’s something else out there.
    4. The SD transfer will also move your tunes and pics.
    5. Google sync will take care of your calendar, contacts and such.
