noob question: contacts

Best way to migrate contacts from old phone to Eris. Currently using an LG phone on Verizon and am wondering how to move everything over when I upgrade.

Also a Mac user if this helps.

Verizon will do it for you in the store. If you are using the Verizon Backup Assistant, you cannot access that on the Eris. You can also export/import to Gmail I think, then sync your Gmail account when you get your Eris phone (should be automatic).

At the Verizon Wireless site there is a tutorial on how to move contacts from a 'dumb' phone to a smart phone, but as DDusstinn said, you're basically putting your contacts into Gmail. However the easy way it to let the Verizon rep do it when you buy your phone. The have a nifty little device that ports your contacts from one phone to another.

Thanks, didn't know if the instore port would work (why I don't know) when I get mine from FedEx I'll hit up a Verizon store and get it done.
