Help Noob with Lock Screen Wallpaper Question

Hi All,

I may be a long time computer programmer but I am a complete noob in the world of smart phones.

Yesterday I picked up a Devour for pretty cheap and played with it last night until my eyes hurt. It performs my primary requirements quite well: gmail; google calendar; easy texting; internet browsing; GPS with maps; sturdy case with QWERTY keyboard. Now, onto the more fun things... I have a little graphic on my computer that I would like to make into the lock screen wallpaper.

How do I do that? I have been looking ways to do this but can't seem to find anything that works.

Wow, I AM a noob. I got the wallpaper to change but now another question...

The image seems too big and is getting cropped. What size should it be so it isn't cropped on the lock screen?
