I was just wondering if updating my rooted nook would mess it up,lord knows it has ben difficult enough for me to get this far. I was also thinking about revisiting the old app situation. Should I try to retreive them again . Has anyone else had any luck doing it. I mean getting the apps I bought on the NC before the root on my rooted version. Tank you all for you're help.

Hi Robin,
Are you running CM7 or rooted 1.2?

With CM7 you won't get the update, but if you're on B&N rooted 1.2, it will eventually try to install.

I'm still running what we put on there. Do you think I should try to get my apps back again with the instructions you gave me last time? I'm pretty sure I can follow better this time. So I won't have to worry about the update messing me up?

Ok, then you don't have to worry about the update until you restore your 1.2 (rooted) backup, then it's possible the update may try to install.

You'd want to restore to 1.2, probably update all your apps in Market to get the latest version, backup it up with Titanium and get the heck outta there before B&N updates you. :D

Awesome, thank you so much. I'm getting much more adventurous. Worst case scenario, what do I do if it updates me while I'm in the process of reteiving the old apps?

Sounds like people trying to install it had to do it 2 or 3 times so if it all of a sudden reboots, that might be the update trying to do it's magic.

The update installs when your Nook is idle and probably screen off.

Worst case we might have to boot off a bootable sdcard and restore your backup.

You can install Titanium now. That doesn't require doing anything else soon.

Well you're instructions were flawless but when I got back to before once again it would not let me open market. So I couldn't. Back them up. Any suggestions? I'm. Back running cm7 now. Thank goodness no update.

You probably need to go into settings... applications... find market and uninstall updates.

Then try market again.

What it says when I try to open it is something like I need to create another accoun but either way yes or no that I push it still does nothing. So uninstall market from cm7 and then repeat the process?

Well I took off market updates then tried to take off the update while it was back to the old way but it said it was uncessful and wouldn't even recognize it anumymore. I hope I didn't screw things up too bad. Well I'm back running cm7 how do I install the update again. Any other suggestions?

it said it was unsuccessful and wouldn't even recognize it anymore.

Could you clarify that?

Did you have the old Market or the new one?

If market doesn't work, you could try rebooting your Nook.

Sorry, I'm not that familiar with the stock Nook.

Do I have to back up current rom everytime I go back to the old nook or can I just go straight into restore old rom and when I'm finished use a previous backup of cm7

Try checking your gmail account. I couldn't get into Market once (something about needing to sign in) and by checking gmail, it worked after that.

Restoring the oldest backup will get you to the rooted version.

To get back to CM7, restore the newest one. Anything in the middle you can ignore.

I'd sign into your gmail account on the old one or online, if you don't have a gmail app on your Nook.

Nothing to change. I think just opening Gmail, might fix your can't log into Market problem. It did for me once.

Sorry, was gone all evening and will be tomorrow until late as well.

Something I suggested should have worked, like uninstalling updates to market, signing into gmail, then opening Market.

"It just won't open" means what?
