I recently got a newer phone (S4 mini to replace dying Evo 4g) and in doing so now actually have storage room for apps. I installed NoRoot Firewall to alleviate some unwanted ad traffic but am wondering if I could do better with a global filter to block most of them. The app works as a on device vpn. I can block or allow apps data usage over wifi or 3g ...same as when i set up a global filter. I have tried to search for a list of ad ip's or hosts but cannot find them. Is what I am trying to do possible with that app or am I expecting too much? I realize there are apps for rooted phones but i do not wish to root this phone as of yet. I have a S4 mini running 4.2.2.
