hey all, i'm looking to finally switch from iphone 4 to an android device today, though i have a few questions...

which is the best android phone on AT&T? atrix, infuse, etc... just name it!

also, does the galaxy s II work with AT&T or is it just a 2G phone with them?

sorry if the questions aren't supposed to be asked here, but it's my first time in the forum and i'm a little lost! let me know if i'm in the wrong place and i'll be more than happy to close the thread or place it elsewhere, thank you!

    Welcome to the forums!

I can't help on which is best for AT&T, as I'm in the UK. Each device has it's own sub-forum... I think that the paople here Samsung Galaxy S2 - Android Forums can tell you if the Galaxy S II works on AT&T!

    Welcome to Android Forums!

Best is relative. What's best for you may not be for me and vice versa. However both the Atrix and the InFuse are excellent phones, you couldn't go wrong with either one.

This is according to Samsung's Spec's for the SII:

    Network
    HSPA+ 21Mbps/ HSUPA 5.76Mbps
    EDGE/ GPRS Class 12
    Quad band GSM 850/900/1800/1900
    Quad band UMTS 850/900/1900/2100

So, yes, it will work with AT&T's 3G network.

thanks for the warm welcome! i ended up selling my iphone for $450 and bought a brand new, rooted GSII for $385 lol. the guys at the store also had the infuse brand new rooted at $350 and the atrix brand new rooted at $380, so they have great deals for droid phone over there i guess!

it works flawlessly with AT&T, and unlike the atrix (i had tried it and barely touched 2mb/s), this baby's lowest speed test has been 5.88mb/s, with the hightest being 11mb/s. i NEVER expected these kinds of speeds!

i'd reccomend this phone to anyone on at&t. it's the best phone i've ever tried so far, plain and simple
