When my Note 7 is connected to our WiFi, my son's ping is too high, and he cannot game. When I disconnect my Note 7 from our WiFi, my son's ping drops to around 25-30, and he is able to game again. My son's Computer is a desktop, and he is hardwired to our router.

When my Note 3 or Note 4 is connected to our WiFi, we do not have this issue.

Your note could be downloading a OTA Update in the background.

See if that is the case.

I just activated my replacement Note 4, I preinstalled everything on it from a backup I made back on July 4th.

that was just the Nova Launcher homescreens.

The apps and data were done with the Samsung Smart Switcher....
it all went well, but, even though I had Settings set to No AutoMatic Updates, it canceled that option and updated every damn app on the phone....

while that was going on, I was unable to use the phone for what I needed "right now"...

I am doing Hospital bedside "do this, do that" duty for my wife....
the hospital WiFi is overloaded and the bandwidth is poor during the day.

at night, it gives us over 5 mbps... which is not too bad.

but I am the daytime maid, and I have been burning up my Verizon data....

I have turned off automatic updates. So that is probably not causing the issue.

Could be your WiFi router is acting funky when the Note 7 is connected. Have you tried rebooting the router?

Another possibility, have you got automatic syncing to any cloud services on, like Google Drive. Phone might be uploading a load of pictures or music or something.
