Cool but note 9 seems to me going to fail if they want your to pre orfmder tmjust to play fortnite
The S10 and Note10s will blow everything away... I suspect that Samsung is holding back for the 10th anniversary models next year. That said, IMO there are plenty of reasons to pre-order (and one reason not to) besides playing Fortnite - about which I could not care less. The pre-registration on Shop Samsung promised delivery before everyone else: so while everyone is waiting on their August 24th delivery, some will have already had the Note9 for a day or two. What's going to KILL their pre-order numbers, though, is the absence of Black as a color option.
Yes, a lot of people may look at the $1000 price tag and balk a bit - a grand for a PHONE? No, it's not a phone... you can get a phone for a hundred dollars. This is a powerful life management system, resting in the palm of your hand. For a lot of people, that's worth the grand.
True but next year itll be obsolete anyways lol
Well, I don't think it will be obsolete... outdated, yes.
Once I get the Note9 (in BLACK, Samsung!), I will post a YouTube video comparing it to my OG Motorola Droid from 2009, which (I think) is still on Android 2.2 Froyo. It's so tiny compared to my Note8 that I'm amazed I could do all the work I did with it!
Try comparing it to the s4 jesus i judt upgraded to the S7 and its like omg this is way better in my opinion to last me awhile
Has anyone heard if Live Emojis came over from the S9? Asking for a friend...
BTW if you haven't seen the "Ingenius" series of commercials from Samsung, getting some really deep digs in at Apple, you need to watch them. They're priceless!
Note9 shatters records for screen quality! With no notch!
It sounds bigger than I'd like screen-wise..
Are we getting into Tablet territory?
6.4 inches? Nahhhh... a tablet, to me, is 9-13 inches. After two Note 7s and a Note8, at 6.3 inches, another fraction of an inch is nothing...
More information on the 512 GB memory module being offered on the high end Note9:
Looks like this is the UFS chip that I've been reading about for a couple of years now... I still don't understand why Samsung hasn't created a hybrid slot for either microSD or UFS card, but I'm sure there's a reason for it...
I almost forgot about the UFS card. I remember reading about it right before the Note7, and I thought that phone would have the UFS reader. I was also under the impression that a SD card would be able to fit in the UFS reader. After the phone came out and I learned that it did not have the UFS reader, I just somehow kinda forgot about the concept, and haven't heard about it again until just now. I think it'll be expensive technology for a while. If I recall correctly, I believe I read something several years ago that said the top capacity of a microSD card would be 2 terabytes. Well, we're only at about a quarter of of that, and it's expensive enough right now. I did however see the other day that 200 gig cards are going for around 50 bucks these days, which is nice.
I still have my 256 gig I got free from the Note7, and I don't even have 50 gigs filled up, so I'm good for quite a while, but when the UFS comes out, and is affordable, I'd get one just because!
Good grief! I have a 400 GB microSD card and it only has about 50 GB available!
Maybe the storage format of microSD is capped at 2 TB, I can't imagine a way to squeeze that much storage into a chip that small. We'll see where we stand when the 5nm process becomes the new norm, but I'd be shocked if we ever see a microSD card that exceeds 1 TB.
I have to laugh at how far Forbes has fallen... from respectable journalism to click bait sensationalism reminiscent of the Weekly World News. Apparently, the writers and editors haven't been trained that 'reporting' involves who, what, when, where, why and how. That's it! As soon as an adjective is written, it's no longer news... it's commentary.
In the last month I've seen multiple headlines, pointing to the same article, just to grab a few more slots in news aggregator apps and sites. Among the headlines:
'Samsung accidentally reveals massive Galaxy Note 9 upgrade'
'Galaxy Note 9 massive storage leaked'
'The Galaxy Note 9's nasty surprise'
'The critical feature missing on the Galaxy Note 9'
And, most recently:
'The iPhone X has already beaten the Galaxy Note 9'
(with the latest phones not even released yet, that's an interesting claim!)
I know, I'm just ranting... but it seems like most tech journalists have iPhones, and they're treating the potential of the Note9 actually performing well against the iPhone as if it's a personal threat!
And between the Siri fans and the Google fans, don't bother looking for any stories that are even neutral towards Bixby, let alone positive! Bixby is always a dismal failure, it's an albatross, it's a (fill in the blank). Last time I checked, though, Siri couldn't perform complex commands... and when the Note9 is released next week, Bixby will have contextual conversations. I'm pretty sure Siri can't do that, either.
If you mean the A R Emoji then yes, it's on the Note 9 also.
It's always been the case than these so called 'people in the know' knock the new Samsung devices, sometimes even before unpacked, saying that the iPhone is still better on paper in benchmarks, but they use the same CPU benchmark every time, which favours Apple architecture.
But recently people have become aware and after running other benchmarks the Note 9 kills the IPhone X!
I have to ask - how did you get the Note9 so soon?
Verizon Note9 is getting its first update out of the box!
It's the August security patch, and I suspect that every Note9 will get that first update very shortly after activating the phone.
I heard, someone might be trading in their S9+, and get one.
The Galaxy S is a great series for casual users who want the best of communication and media consumption. They are very good at what they do.
The Galaxy Note line, however, is for power users who need top specs, unparalleled performance and features that make media creation easier.
So yes, they are both great phones that do a lot of the same things, but for different reasons. Most people won't get the Note9 because they either don't understand the power of the S Pen, or they just don't need it. And that's fine. Watching a Blu-ray movie on either is a great experience (just have stereo headphones on).
BTW I've already purchased a USB-C to USB-C cable, for the transfer of all my stuff from the Note8 to the Note9. I also purchased a USB-C to HDMI cable, and it's hooked to my monitor's 2nd input for DeX. I THINK I have a Bluetooth keyboard w/trackpad around here somewhere... I need to look for it...
It must have been painful for BGR - aka Rabid Fruit Phone Fanbois - to write a flattering article about the Galaxy Note9. Well, as flattering as any article about any non-fruit phone is going to get from them:
So: pre-order sales of the Note9 are up 50% from the S9, and at 80% of the Note8 numbers... which were record numbers, as the Note8 was the top-selling Note since the model began in 2011.
And their headline? It 'might not disappoint'.
If you really love the ringtones and notifications sounds on the Note9, or if you really hate them, here's the guy to credit (or blame):
About Fortnite. does anyone know if it's Samsung exclusive? When I tried it on my Huawei Mate 10, it just gives something about a waiting list and closes, but on on my Galaxy S7 it plays no problem.
Guess what, puddin' heads? 'What we Want to See' is neither rumor nor news. It's a request. Get in line.
