nothing works

I have an android 3 I think and suddenly nothing on my phone works. I can't open my text messaging shortcut or the one on the main apps list. I can't open anything. The background turns white like it's going to open th then jumps right back to the home screen. I don't know why this started happening but I literally caring use my phone for anything. Can someone please help.

You might try powering off your phone and then removing it's battery for a minute. Replace the battery and turn on the phone. This will cause the phone to reboot instead of just power on. This often clears up out of nowhere problems such as you describe. I hope this helps.
