Help Notification for text and not for email?

My wife wants to know: How does she receive notification for text messages and not for email? She is getting tired of the notification going off every time she receives an email. She only wants notification for text messages. Please help as this is driving her crazy!

I can only tell you how to turn off email notifications in Gmail.

Open Gmail, tap the phone's menu button, tap settings, tap on the email address, uncheck email notifications, or you can leave it checked to notify you but change Ringtone to silent and vibrate to never.

You are so right .... she did find the things she needed under the menu button. Since I don't play I could not help, but figured it must be something like that. Thanks for the tips.
